A roseate spoonbill..taken in the wild, at an area of three small lakes very near to where I live. These birds aren't very plentiful and not seen too often in my area. In fact, this is the first decent shot I've ever managed of one these elusive creatures...and you don't even want to know how long I stalked her. She kept flying away just as I'd get in position..fly a few hundreds yards, one lake to another..I'd catch up, and off she'd go again..time after time after time. Anyway, as I've done with a few of the other birds in my gallery that I especially liked, I decided to give this one a name.
So, DA friends, meet my feathered friend..Rosie! :)

Oh, and if you've never seen one of these magnificent birds before, yes, those are the real colors.

You have the patience of a saint then Mark to be able to finally take such a wonderful capture of Rosie. Beautiful colors but what I really like about this is her reflection and how her colors there seem more intensified :nod: Beautiful! :+fav:
